Onion Pie

 All types of onions have great health benefits related to both cardiovascular diseases and cancer and are anti-bacterial and a natural antibiotics!

According to Healthline, onions contain antioxidants and compounds that fight inflammation, decrease triglycerides, and reduce cholesterol levels. They have anti-inflammatory properties that might help reduce high blood pressure and protect against blood clots. What you need for the Onion Pie

  • 1  frozen pie crust
  • 1 medium onion
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1 tsp onion salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, preferably white. I heap my measuring cup with the cheese.

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 400F
  • Butter your pie plate and place the frozen crust on i.
  • Peel and slice the onion with a mandoline slicer to get them nice and thin.
  • Whisk the eggs , the milk and the cream. Season with onion salt and pepper.
  • Spread the cheese out onto the pie crust, and then follow with most of the onions, reserving a few rings for the top.
  • Pour the egg and cream mixture into the pie crust, it should just fill it to the top. Arrange a few whole onion slices over the top of the pie.
  • Bake for about 55-60 minutes or until the pie is risen and golden brown.
  • Enjoy
